#TimeforClimateAction
The road to sustainability started with our inception and the vision to make our cities more liveable by setting new mobility in motion.
“Sustainability is at the core of who we are and one of the key drivers behind why we founded SURVE”, say co-founders Christian Lang (CEO), Philipp Anders (COO), and Dr. Paul Stuke (CTO).
That’s why we practice what we call “360 degree sustainability” at SURVE.
360 Degree Sustainability
We know that in order to truly be sustainable, we have to holistically consider the impact our company has on our planet and the people who call it home. We have to support and create solutions that are environmentally, socially, and governmentally sustainable, as well as inspire others to do the same. This is what sustainability means to us. Why 360 degrees? Because we also value balance. We choose to invest our sustainability efforts evenly across the triple bottom line (environmental, social, and governance).
In order to help us keep this balance, we’ve committed ourselves to three goals:
Turning Goals into Reality
We see our sustainability goals as destinations, but know that the journey we take to get there is what truly matters. Here are some sustainable things we are actively doing:
1. Company Standards
We hold ourselves accountable to operating a green fleet across our locations, hiring in-house talent instead of offering gig work, and choosing green energy providers for our warehouses. We all deserve to live in quieter cities where we can breathe easier and have decent work.
2. Leaders for Climate Action
Surve joined the Leaders for Climate Action (LFCA) in January 2021 and committed to the Green Pledge. Through our partnership with LFCA, we were able to calculate our 2020 CO2 emissions and offset our carbon footprint. We chose Atmosfair as our offsetting partner for our 2020 CO2 emissions because of their strong support for climate positive projects like solar and wind energy, as well as environmental education and tourism restructuring, all of which align with our company values.
SURVE was verified climate neutral by the LFCA for the year 2020 on the 10th of March 2021.
There’s always room to grow which is why climate neutral is only the first stop on the road toward becoming climate positive. Next stop: reducing our carbon footprint.
3. #GreenTeam
We created our internal #GreenTeam because we wanted to give all Surve Mobility employees the opportunity to gain information on sustainability and find community, as well as contribute toward the company's and/or their personal sustainability goals.
4. Urban Sustainability
This week, we have also officially launched Urban Sustainability, a community of businesses within or tied to the mobility industry who have dedicated themselves to making our cities more liveable. The goal of Urban Sustainability is to not only create more opportunities for learning and collaboration, but to also increase the leveraging power and impact of sustainability efforts throughout our cities. We all contribute to making our cities more liveable, but imagine what we could learn from one another, achieve together, and inspire if we combined our efforts? It’s time for US to share sustainability.
Let’s create sustainable waves throughout our cities.
